Summer fruits and new dolls

Not a view you want to see in the middle of July... But this is Scotland.

At least I've got summer on my plate! It's time to feast upon summer fruit! Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries in the morning. Figs, peaches and cherries for lunch. Then you're ready for mango. Finally, we've found out where to get super good mangoes in Glasgow. The Blochairn fruit market is the place to go.

I'm working on different style dolls. Smaller, with big embroidered anime eyes. It's 17cm (6.5") tall. Definitely more of those are coming.

This sweet little bear is another new addition to my Etsy shop

Halloween bloody fingers cookies

I don't make cookies very often but I had to bake these ones. Who would resist?!
I found the recipe on this blog. But instead of red decorating gel, I used some beetroot juice for the blood. Also I didn't have any special egg replacer so I soaked a tablespoon of lineseed in 2-3 tablespoons of boiling water. Works perfectly!

And yes, they are vegan.

One for animals

I decided to donate 30% of every sale on my Etsy Shop to one of the animal organizations below. You can choose which one you want to support by writing a note when making a purchase.

Tower Hill Stables -  Animal Sanctuary founded by an amazing and inspiring person Fiona Oakes

The Brooke -  an international animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the world's poorest communities.

Harmony Found - international animal rescue

Chia seeds

My recent discovery; chia seeds! Called by some "superfood". Those tiny seeds are excellent source of fibre, protein, antioxidants and loaded with omega-3s and omega-6s. You can add them to anything: soup, salad, stir fry, porridge, ...

I soak them in some cool water first, then add to my green smoothies! Yum!
I bought my pack in Grassroots Organic. They are also available in Holland and Barret or iherb.com.

Look here for many ways to use chia seeds:

And a little treat ;) Organic raw dark chocolate, dairy free as an encouragement to my vegan Mondays.
