Spring and a new owl brooch

Oh Spring! How beautiful your expressions are!
I feel like I'm getting back to life after the winter. What a difference can a few degrees and some sunshine make. Running in the park is so much nicer and I do it every day lately! Spending time outside plus a bonus chance to find and bring home a perfect prop for my new Owl Brooch photos :)

Craft fair in Luss

It was a beautiful day in Luss. First truly warm spring day. I've met some amazing, very talented people, learnt a lot and enjoyed every moment!

There was also battle reenactment. I wish I took more pictures

Happy Easter and craft fair preparations

Felt Easter bunnies. I could sit and make them all day :)

This Easter I'm doing craft fair in Luss. They've placed my fox, bear and a cat on the banner!

All the little guys are ready

They can't wait to present themselves :)

Felt bear and cats in a basket

This is the biggest bear I've made. It's a little bit sad, needs a hug or something :)

That moment when you feel you MUST make tiny crochet basket... Like your life depends on it...

And of course all the felt cats immediately installed themselves in it.

Felt Foxes

Foxes are amazing and beautiful animals. Recently I had the pleasure to meet Fred the Fox in Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue. I've never been so close to a fox in my life and Fred is such a friendly lil fellow. Shame, I didn't take a photo of him, I'll do it next time I'm there.

So inspired by Fred I've made two felt foxes. One is wearing a floral bow, another chunky knitted scarf. They're both like to stay classy in the woods :)

How to knit Herringbone stitch

So I decided to learn Herringbone stitch.
It's a beautiful stitch and so nice to touch, it's dense, squishy and warm. It is a bit fiddly initially, but  easy to learn and I really enjoyed it!

How to knit Herringbone stitch
Here are a few good tutorials that helped me to learn this stitch:

Here are fantastic examples of what you can create using this stitch
Herringbone cowl from The Purl Bee

Another cowl but made on straight needles from Rivelo

And here is my attempt at this stitch
