Felt Foxes

Foxes are amazing and beautiful animals. Recently I had the pleasure to meet Fred the Fox in Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue. I've never been so close to a fox in my life and Fred is such a friendly lil fellow. Shame, I didn't take a photo of him, I'll do it next time I'm there.

So inspired by Fred I've made two felt foxes. One is wearing a floral bow, another chunky knitted scarf. They're both like to stay classy in the woods :)

How to knit Herringbone stitch

So I decided to learn Herringbone stitch.
It's a beautiful stitch and so nice to touch, it's dense, squishy and warm. It is a bit fiddly initially, but  easy to learn and I really enjoyed it!

Here are a few good tutorials that helped me to learn this stitch:

Here are fantastic examples of what you can create using this stitch

Mittens from recycled sweater

Winter 's come and I've lost one of my favorite glove... So I thought maybe it's time to try and make a pair of mittens from an old sweater. It's very simple, just trace your hand, cut and sew together. I've added a few snowflakes and I was ready to go!

And this is a new hot pink jungle wristlet. Crazy, juicy colours for dark winter days. That's what I need!

Crochet snowflake scarf and fruit haul

I like this crochet snowflakes scarf so much that I'm definitely making another one! It's so soft and cozy, perfect for that cold weather we have now. Available on Etsy, ready to make your winter much nicer :)

Fruit haul for the week! We buy our fruits at the fruit&veggie wholesale market. Unfortunately only bananas are organic :( but I also shop at Locavore where they have fresh, local produce, Roots&Fruits and Flowers
and at Saturday markets, especially from Bellfield Organics. I only wish the shops were closer to city center.

Two new cute felt guys. Rene and Albert. Albert is the smart one :) Honestly, I could not decide which one is my favorite.
